MONOPRINTING (June 18, 2011 10:00am to 2:00pm)
Transfer your ideas to paper and create small works of art or gift cards. A Monoprint or Monotype is a type of print that retains a painterly style. Drawing skills are not required to create fun and spontaneous prints with immediate results. Experiment with different tools and techniques to explore this painterly style of printmaking. All materials included. $50
INTRODUCTION TO PAPERMAKING (July 23, 2011 10:00am to 2:00pm)
An Introduction to Papermaking provided by artist Collette Broeders will teach beginners the basics of producing handmade paper using a variety of fibres and recycled materials. Participants will be introduced to various techniques involved in hand papermaking and the creative applications they provide. Using plant fibres, recycled materials, inclusions and colours, participants will produce a variety of handmade papers. All materials included. $50
PRINTMAKING-ENGRAVING(August 20, 2011 10:00am to 2:00pm)
As an introduction to intaglio printmaking participants will learn one of the oldest and most common types of intaglio printmaking known as engraving. Using a metal plate, participants will engrave lines and marks using a variety of tools to create an image that can be inked onto the plate and transferred onto paper. No drawing skills required. All materials included $60
